Shindhu means the sea, and this piece was made with it in mind: a deep indigo like water at dusk, with white block prints scattered over it like foam on the shore, kash flowers in the wind and a wide open sky.
A dense panel of leaves and flowers is block printed across the chest, with single motifs falling down the body and a printed band at each sleeve hem. The cut is a relaxed, hip-length kurti with a shirt collar and short sleeves. The neck is laced: a white cord criss-crosses the opening and ends in cowrie shells.
Wear it loose over jeans, a denim pyjama or palazzos for a day out, a trip to the sea or an autumn afternoon among the kash. It pairs well with blue and white bangles.
