ময়ূরাক্ষী - Moyurakkhi

The name ময়ূরাক্ষী - Moyurakkhi means peacock-eyed, and it is also the river Himu dreams of in Humayun Ahmed's Moyurakkhi. Look closely at the middle bangle and you will see the eyes: white stones ringed in green and gold.

Each bangle is wrapped by hand in bright lime silk thread. The middle band carries white kundan-style stones in triangles, squares and teardrops, each circled by small emerald-green stones in gold settings. The slim bangles on either side are dotted with green stones and tiny silver diamond-shaped studs.
